Week 2 Post 2: reseaching funny will ferrel movies

MEDIA TEXT 1: STEP BROTHERS

So this is like my favorite movie of all time, and for good reason. It's literally the best movie ever of all time, undisputed. It's like the larry bird of movies. Cuz lebron and jordan are out of the goat debate, and what's left is larry bird. Now getting back on track, the reason that step brothers is the best movie ever is because of how perfectly written and timed and acted every joke is. I've watched this movie dozens upon dozens of times and it never fails to make me laugh. Im aware that it is basically impossible to reach this level of peak, but with my project I aim to get as close                                                                                     as I can. I also think that this film has some pretty good coloring. The scenes have this warm look to it, and it looks really nice.

MEDIA TEXT 2: TALLADEGA NIGHTS: THE BALLAD OF RICKY BOBBY

yea so this is the second greatest movie of all time. Its like step brothers but with nascar, which sounds like it would be the greatest movie of all time, but the OG remains on top. The main things I take from the movie in the making of my project are the characterization of both Ricky Bobby and his rival, Jean Girard. The beginning of the movie establishes Ricky Bobby as in his peak as a nascar driver, having everything that someone could ask for. But when Jean Girard comes onto the scene, Ricky Bobby realizes his position is challenged, and when he is surpassed, he is sent spiraling into madness. But towards the end of the movie, he discovers who he truly is and goes to take back the greatness that Jean Girard took from him. And rather than a triumphant victory, the race ends in a tie, and the two kiss each other. I want my villain to toy with my protagonist in a similar way to this.
